Not gonna lie, the last few weeks have been tough.

Not gonna lie, the last few weeks have been tough. I certainly hadn't felt like doing much on social media after the loss of a dear friend.

Over the weekend I attended a dinner to celebrate her life. Much of the night was looking at photos and talking about her posts on social media, and the joy they created. It reminded me yet again how precious photographs are.

Take the photos. Share them with friends and loved ones. Spread your joy. Be humorous, intelligent and lovable, just like my friend always was.

Coffee + author friends = a productive day of writing, editing and sharing ideas, with lots of laughs. 💕🙌
We also had chocolate and home-made slices on hand, not to mention some 'inspirational' cards 🃏 for entertainment, and sharing of puppy pics. 🐾

I read this one with my book club, but I'd read Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo years ago and loved them both.
When I saw TJR was talking as part of a Romance Week with Prowriting Aid, I had to watch...
One of the things she said that resonates with me was about research, and how it intimidated her at first, but now it's her favourite part.

I have a new contender for the best book I've read this year.

This was such a page turner. I felt like I was racing at full speed on a push bike, just like the main character.

Heartbreakingly beautiful, believable and so emotional. I'll be thinking of this story for a long time.

I discovered @bellebirdjames on TikTok and now I can't wait for her next book to come out.

Get your skates on and get to the nearest bookshop to grab The Work Wives.

Rachael Johns sure has the knack of getting you invested in the story right from the start. She always writes friendship and modern drama in a relatable way, and even topics that may seem a little off the grid are very believable.

The two main characters, the work wives Debra and Quinn, were interesting and I could relate to both of them in different ways, but it was Deb's daughter Ramona, and her storylines that I was invested in the most.

I was lucky to have an advanced reader copy through Netgalley, but the book is out in stores now!

I'm not going to say much because I'll cry.
😭 That's the first thing I said to Holly Ringland when I got my copy of her new book signed tonight. 📚
Of course, I was right.
I stood in front of this beautiful woman and thanked her for her talk, and I cried.
Sobbed, actually.
And after she had talked about feelings of not being smart enough or good enough, and about peeling back layers to reveal yourself, I told her hopefully one day she'd be able to come to my book talk.
One day.

While visiting Orange, I came across this house, the possible birthplace of Banjo Patterson.
While Waltzing Matilda was playing on repeat in my head, it had me thinking about how different life was for writers in those times.
No internet for research, no Scrivener for keeping your manuscript on track, not even spell check. No thanks.
How blessed are we to have the tools available nowadays.
